Greg Bolton joins award winning finance team at RMT

Bolton has spent 12 years working in the sector and moves into a new role as head of corporate finance at RMT, assisting the Gosforth-based firm’s expanding client base with acquisitions, disposals, fundraising and commercial expansion.

He has worked across all industry sectors, but has a particularly strong track record in the engineering and manufacturing industries, as well as strong relationships with all the major business investors in the North East.

Before studying for an MBA at Durham University and moving into corporate finance, Bolton spent a decade running his own successful electrical engineering business, which has provided him with an extra degree of insight into the challenges faced by the clients with which he works.

Bolton is joining the firm shortly after RMT’s CF team was named as Corporate Finance Advisory Team of the Year at the annual Insider North East Dealmakers Awards.

Led by director Maxine Pott, the team provides the full spectrum of corporate finance services for clients both within and outside the North East, from buying and selling companies and raising finance through to business valuations and transaction support.

Bolton said: “RMT has always had a strong reputation in the North East corporate finance sector, and I’ve always had a good relationship with the people that work here, so when the opportunity came to join the team, I was very keen to take it.

“I’ve always found that my personal understanding of the responsibilities that come with running a business is something that’s really appreciated by clients, and I’m looking to maximise the benefits that this can bring to all the company owner/managers with whom I’m now working.”
